MrLucky is not a "zine", but a  musical communiqué celebrating music of a "jazz-centric" nature. This can be as direct as Dizzy Gillespie or as offbeat as samba-reggae from Brasil. Our only criteria are harmony, melody and rhythm. Not unrelated is our responsible love of booze and cocktails. We fully sympathize with minors and problem drinkers, but these pages will celebrate the martini, Manhattan and other divine nectars that take away the edge of a harsh modern reality and stimulate both appetite and conversation.

The story of MrLucky is an unlikely one. In our mad impetuous youth we occasionally produced "pirated" compilations of our favorite obscure and mostly out of print records. These 90 minute miracles fast became popular in the better circles and the wolf was kept from the door. The collection grew and a catalogue was produced, describing the music collections, that was almost as popular as the music itself. It dawned on us that we could educate and entertain at the same time. The "unauthorized reproductions" ceased and MrLucky, the musical communiqué, was born! Our first issue was produced in December 1993 and we've been increasing circulation ever since. The PC desktop publishing revolution (and now the Internet) have made MrLucky wildly popular. Thanks to the success of the web version, we´ve ceased publication of the print version and have gone from quarterly to monthly updates on the Internet, with a long term goal of weekly good news from your musical communiqué.
